Objects
The Principal objects of the Institute are:

To promote and provide for Constitutional and
Parliamentary studies with special reference to the evolution and working of the
Indian Constitution in all its aspects,

To undertake compartive studies in the Constitutional
Systems and Parliamentary Institutions of various countries and their problems
and process,

Embark upon a whole range of multidimensional programmes
and activities, such as organizing of seminars, lectures, symposia, colloquia
and conferences,

Publication of monographs, books and research papers on
developments in Constitutional Law, Conventions and Practices, Parliamentary
procedure, trends in Judicial interpretation and other allied matters

To serve as an amalgam of an advanced research centre in
the field of Constitutional and Parliamentery studies as well as a vehicle for
popular dissemination of democratic values in the country.
